My aunt can't get high speed internet via dsl or cable where she lives. She connects to somewhat high speed internet using an AT&T 3G service. It is a usb dongle that's connected to her laptop. How do I connect a Nintendo Wii to the laptop and use that internet connection? Could it be done directly either wired or wirelessly, or does a router need to be used?

Answer
connect a Nintendo Wii to the Internet through a Wireless Router
â¢1
Turn on your Nintendo Wii by plugging it into a power source and pressing the power button.

â¢2
Press the "A" button on your Wii controller to continue from the warning screen.

â¢3
Select "Wii" button in the left hand corner of the main menu, by using your Wii remote to move the hand shaped cursor over the "Wii" button and pressing the "A" button on the controller to select the Wii options.

â¢4
Click the "Wii Settings" box on the right.

â¢5
Select the left arrow to scroll over to more options. Then select "Internet" from the list and "Connection Settings."

â¢6
Choose an open connection by selecting the "Connection 3: None" option, then the "Wireless Connection" option, and the "Search for an Access Point Option."

â¢7
Choose the access point you want to use from the list that will be displayed. Save the settings by clicking "OK." Then click "OK" to start a connection test. When the test is complete you are connected

What Wireless Device Should I Use For WiFi on the Nintendo Wii?

Q. The Nintendo Wii USB connector has been discontinued (and I don't have it). What other WIRELESS devices could I use as an alternative?
No, it says backordered. Also, on wikipedia, it says that it has been discontinued until further notice. It has not been released why it has been taken off the market or when it will return.

Answer
A quick search of the Net shows several places selling this item:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Nintendo+Wii+USB+connector+&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1

However, as you said, it has been discontinued by Nintendo for now.

So, you can buy a wireless home router from most anyplace that carries computer equipment: Circuit City, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Fry's Electronics ....

Any wireless home router will work with the Wii. I currently use an old Netgear, and the newer models will just work better.

Is the nintendo wii or playstation 2 better for someone who isn't really a gamer?

N

I was going to buy playstation 2, but then i started looking up nintendo wii, i was wondering what is better? I only want to play fun stuff like guitar hero, rock band, dance dance revolution etc, kind of stuff. I'm not a serious gamer I just want something fun!

Answer
Nintendo Wii and PS2 are both great systems, however the Nintendio Wii is designed for both serious and non-serious gamers. Rockband just came out for the wii, also guitar hero, ddr, etc are all for the wii. You can just pick up the wii-mote and the explanations and gameplay are very easy... like wii sports... theres a perfect example of a fun, non-serious gaming environment where you can just play for fun. Many problems with people these days is how complicated control schemes can be... but with the wii, you can swing it like a bat, hit a tennis ball swigning it like a racket, and even boxing. So in all honesty get the wii, its new, its fun, its affordable, and it has a vast variety of games (wii play is also one to look into as well).

How do you rate the NEW Nintendo Wii compared to the competition?

Kj NEiL

I am planning on purchasing a Nintendo Wii, I just want to get everyone's opinion and rating about it. A little pros and cons about it will be very much appreciated too.

Please rate it from 1 to 5 : 1 as the lowest (bad) and 5(as the highest)

THANKS in advance!

Answer
As far as rating the Wii with the PS3 and the 360, the ONLY comparison is playbility, in which it is superior. Graphics however are barely any better than the gamecube, so the other systems annihilate it there. Personally, I'd get the Wii because it's cheaper, and it fun. I'd say overall 4.5
